  1. Drexel University College of Medicine:

The Drexel university college of medicine is formed from the merging of two medical schools together – the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania and College of Homeopathy. It is one of the most applied medical schools in Philadelphia with the highest enrollments when it comes to private medical schools in the United States.

In this medical school, students have their classes at the Queen Lane Campus which was part of the woman’s medical college. In previous years, the school has changed its curriculum to a new one called Foundations and Frontiers helping medical students to adapt to the current healthcare developments. Parts of the curriculum include studies in healthcare financing, population health, etc.

  1. Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania:

It is popularly called Penn Med and came into existence in 1765. Medical school is one of the oldest medical universities in the United States. Also, it is considered among the Ivy League and ranks as one of the best in the country. The National Institute of Health other private Foundations have rewarded the school for its contribution to the medical field.

  1. Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University:

It is the ninth oldest medical school in the United States. In 2017, the university was merged with the Philadelphia university and it is one of the recognized medical schools in the country. In 1877, the university launched a 125-bed hospital as part of the medical school. Presently, it is one of the first hospitals to have an affiliation with a medical school.

It comprises four separate medical colleges such as School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the College of Science, Health and the Liberal Arts, the College of Architecture and the Built Environment, and Kanbar College of Design, Engineering, and Commerce. In 2014, the name of the medical school was changed to the Sidney Kimmel Medical College after the donation of Philanthropist Sidney Kimmel’s donation ($110 million) to the medical school.

  1. Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine:

Temple University in Philadelphia is one of the few medical universities in the city of Philadelphia offering an M.D. Also, they offer different master’s and Ph.D. degree programs. The school is ranked as one of the prominent medical schools in the country. They emphasize biomedical sciences and are amongst the top 10 medical schools in the United States.

The school has a vast record for research and medical care. In 2014, their scientists became known for research in eliminating human tissue. When it comes to the admission process, the Temple University School of Medicine is selective when it comes to selecting its students. In 2010, they had over 9600 applicants, but only 540 were admitted.

  1. Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center:

It is situated in the City of Hershey, and consider one of the notable medical schools in the United States. In 1963, the school was established in Philadelphia. The school has grown in different areas such as population, facilities, lecturers, etc. Also, they have new buildings, apartments, animal research centers, etc.

  1. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM):

In 1989, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine was established. The main campus of the school is situated in Philadelphia with other campuses in Suwanee, Georgia, and Moultrie. The school offers various degrees in Pharmacy (Pharm D), Psychology (PsyD), Physical Therapy (DPT), etc. They have a Master’s program in courses like public health, biomedical sciences, forensic medicine, etc.

The school has different primary healthcare centers which include Cambria Division Healthcare Center, Family Medicine at PCOM, and Lancaster Avenue Healthcare Center. Before you can be eligible to be their student, you will need a GPA of 3.5. The tuition fee for interstate students and international students is $28,364. The American Osteopathic Association has accredited the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in this medical school.
