Luxembourg is a landlocked country located in Western Europe and shares numerous boundaries with France, Germany, and Belgium. The law permits employers to sponsor their foreign employees who cannot obtain a new permit or reapply to get a new one. The law established in 1972 was aimed at helping workers from Non-European Economic Community (ECC). Luxembourg Visas and Work Permits

Before moving to Luxembourg, it is compulsory to have the ideal visa that will enable you to stay well in the country without having any issue with the migration officers. For instance, if you are moving to Luxembourg with a Schengen visa, you will be permitted to reside in the country for a minimum of 90 days. This could be for tourism or business purposes.

For those from the European Union, the European Economic Community, and Swiss citizens are allowed free movement in Luxembourg for at least a minimum of 90 days as long as they have a valid identity passport. It is necessary for the worker to be employed by a Luxembourgish citizen before they can get their Luxembourgish visas and work permits.

For non-European citizens, it is important for them to get a visa that will enable stay for three consecutive months. This is like a short-term visa and can be gotten from a local Luxembourg consulate or embassy through an application, proof of visit, return ticket, and accommodation details. If they have the intention of staying for more than three months, they can apply for a temporary residence permit through the local embassy or consulate.

Application for a Luxembourg Permit or Visa

There are certain documents that must be available for anyone who is applying such as birth certificates, passport, divorce certificate (if any), proof of statement of account, proof of school admission, medical records, and many others. These credentials will be translated to any of the languages spoken by Luxembourg, and the permit can take up to three months before they will be issued out to the applicant.
